Today we had a solemn assembly to commemorate Remembrance Day. Our music teacher, Srta. Primak and the grade 3, 4, and 5 students did an amazing job sharing their singing, poems, and art with the rest of the school.
In our art class, we learned about perspective (objects at the front appear bigger and objects afar are smaller) by drawing and coloring a poppy field using oil pastels.
In math we continue to work on "El Número del Día" (Number of the Day) to represent numbers and learn how to use base 10 block to practice place value.
In science we are learning about insulators in our daily lives. We did an experiment to find out what material is best as an insulator (paper, tin foil, bubble wrap, newspaper or fabric).

On Halloween day students designed their scarecraws with 2D shapes and made a graph to repesent what shapes they used. We will be using their creations to describe the scarecraw in Spanish.
Dalhousie students will have the opportunity to participate in a 6-day dance residency at school. Sound Kreations will be coming to dance with the students on November 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, and 22. Our students will be participating in a program called CubaNYC where a Spanish speaking instructor will focus on teaching the students hip hop and Latin street dance moves. The cost of this residency will be $7.26 per student which can be paid through your MYCBE account. This fee is in the process of being posted and you should see it in the next couple of weeks. We are excited to get our groove on, ask your child to see the moves they learned at school.
